WIP Wednesday: The Woes of sleeves

on March 27, 2018

Hi everyone,

It is WIP Wednesday!!!

I am in the woes of sleeves with my sweaters. I need to perfect the two at a time method because this is agonizing. I finished the second sleeve on my Grandpa sweater…well almost. I need another ball of yarn. I have order two balls and another sweater quantity in black. I am still concern about fit but I really enjoyed the pattern and how quickly the sweater knitted up. Once yarn arrives (hopefully soon, I will finish and block. Hopefully it is not too bad. I will cast on a new grandpa once I confirm size with blocking.

I have been working on my Liz sweater aka owl sweater, which is coming along. I finished my increases and decreases in the waist now getting to the length requirement fo r bust shaping, which is short rows. Should be interesting.

Also working on the cubes for Maria, however stuck in the sleeves. I am not a fan of the body or the way the sleeves look but I am not going to rip back. The color block is awesome. The yarn is great but might not have been a good choice for a sweater. I curious to see how it will block.

Things I have learn in my sweater quests: I need to swatch fully. My common concern in all three of these sweaters is fit, which will not be really confirmed until blocking. If I have washed the swatches and played with them for a few days, I would have a better understanding of the fabric. Although I had searching I know it is necessary. I need to just get over it and really swatch.

Here are some pictures to denote progress. I will provide pictures of the owl sweater at a later date.
